StarFish Media explores critical social issues, including the divisive issues of race, class, wealth, opportunity, and poverty and the personal stories of people who face these obstacles and attempt to overcome them.

Starfish continues to produce the highly acclaimed ‘Black in America’ and ‘Latino in America’ series, originated by O’Brien when she was an anchor at CNN. She also produces documentaries for CNN and Al Jazeera and reports for HBO’s ‘Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.’ She also hosts the National Geographic Bee and Live From Space on National Geographic.  Starfish Media Group is based in New York City, but its storytelling takes place around the world.

PowHERful Foundation gets young women to, and through, college. We provide financial assistance, mentorship, and wraparound services to help our scholars achieve their highest potentials. We reach an even broader audience through our Summit series, where we bring day-long conferences to major cities across the country for young women.
